Updates on departing physicians
We understand this is a difficult time for our patients--new and established. We will continue your care and request patience with our clinic during this time of transition.
Dr Lamichhane and Dr Elmergawy had their last day at this clinic on Friday Feb 28, 2025.

Please call the OPTUM/OMG rheumatology clinic (541) 741-0387 for accurate information on the departing MD 's new schedules.

Dr Maier and employees will handle the departing MD's Rx refills, imaging orders, and Infusions orders as those orders are paused after the departure of Dr Lamichhane and Dr Elmergawy.

This clinic will send any requested chart notes to the clinic of your choice including the OPTUM/Oregon Medical Group clinics.

Dr William P Maier remains the active MD rheumatologist at this clinic. He will see new and established patients for

continuation-of-care-visits: you will get an appointment reminder

urgent visits, injections including biologics; infusions at the clinic monitored by Dr Maier.

He will see the patients of his two former colleagues for any urgent needs, for the continuity of care issues, and order reviews

And, he will attend to the patients with insurance plans not accepted by other clinics or by the OPTUM/Oregon Medical Clinics

Dear Patients,
We are sad to inform you that Dr. Lamichhane and Dr. Elmergawy have been hired to work at the Oregon Medical Group/OPTUM Clinic.

Their last day at this clinic seeing patients was February 28th.

March 1st they were considered to no longer be practicing at this clinic and are unavailable to all their patients. However, Dr. Maier will be covering your care and will address your urgent rheumatology related concerns. For other urgent issues, as usual contact your PCP or closest URGENT care clinic or the Emergency number in your area.

Contact Oregon Medical Group at (541) 741-0387 for questions starting March 1st if you have decided to see your rheumatologist there. Do not call us as we will not be able to answer your questions concerning the OMG/OPTUM clinic.

OPTUM will request your medical records from us.

Another clinic of your choice? Inform us where we can send your records.
We respectfully ask you not to call our clinic for questions related to the Oregon Medical Group/OPTUM clinic. Do not ask us to send records to Oregon Medical Group/OPTUM or other clinics. We will send your records when they are requested by other clinics or by the Oregon Medical Group/OPTUM.

Please contact Oregon Medical Group/OPTUM rheumatology clinic at (541) 741-0387 if you need clarification on their location, acceptance of your insurance plan, and any scheduling questions.

We are not able to answer any questions related to the Oregon Medical Group/OPTUM clinic and the departing rheumatologists' schedules there.
If you are a patient of Dr. Lamichhane or Dr. Elmergawy, until you are established at their new location or if you have chosen any other clinic, Dr. Maier will see you for Urgent visits, Rx Refills, injections/ infusion treatments, and for the continuity of care.

Our Infusion Center will be open for treatments and is supervised by Dr. Maier. You are most welcome to receive your injections and infusions at our clinic. We understand that there are certain medications that may not be injected nor infused at other clinics or at the OPTUM infusion center but are unsure of which medications those would be. If you wish to receive treatments at this clinic, please contact our infusion coordinator Shelly at (541) 896-7028.

If you have an insurance plan not accepted by OPTUM/Oregon Medical Group, Dr. Maier will continue your care at this clinic.
It is our current understanding OMG/OPTUM will not see patients with plans listed here:
Western Oregon Advanced Health; Umpqua Health Alliance; Intercommunity Health Network; TriWest VA; Kaiser; ATRIO; Trillium; and OHP open card.
There may be other plans they do not accept. Please contact your insurance plan for up-to-date information.
For other rheumatologists in Oregon, please call your insurance plan's customer service.
